2022 Randi’s Camp for Hope & Courage
Campers had a great time while attending Randi’s Camp this year, held on July 13-15.
The theme was, “Empowering Me to Create a We” where the campers focused on remains feeling of self-worth of “Me” in order to give back to our community to create a “We”.
Each day had a specific goal to help the campers learn how to offer positive self-affirmations, how to increase self-worth, recognizing/labeling more than one emotion at the same time, types of communication, expressing ourselves and giving back to our community through our kind relationships.
The guest speakers of Chief of Police (including K-9 visit), Farmers Foundation of Cumberland County, and the Master Gardeners from the Cumberland County Extension Office, tied in their presentations to fit with the theme and presentations relatable to the campers lives and experiences. The Farmer’s Foundation brought animals to meet the kids.
All campers expressed wanted to return to camp next year and indicated growth in the areas of how to feel more comfortable around other people, treating others with respect, and trying to think positive.
